Angels Laughing, the first live CD from Wendy Woo, captures the songstress’ style perfectly.  All solo acoustic, each song was recorded just the way she played it at The Trilogy Lounge in Boulder, Avogadros Number in Fort Collins or the Acoustic Coffee House in Nederland, complete with between song patter and applause from the audience.  The recording represents a departure from her previous five studio CDs.  Played solo the songwriting and lyrics shine through.  The catchy hooks stick in your mind and poignant lyrics evoke the emotions she must have been feeling when the songs were written.  The sixteen tracks are comprised mostly of favorites from her studio CDs, but also include a few new numbers that have never been previously recorded.  The first track “Birthday Candles” is one such debut. Woo’s guitar work, complete with the percussive playing on the title track “Angels Laughing” and “Surprise Me,” also shines through.  Representing the some of her best work to date, this is a must-have CD for Woo’s fans.
