Reason is a seven track ep from The Fray, probably doing double duty as a demo disc. The Fray has good reason to be optimistic. Reason comes in a simple cardboard sleeve with no liner notes. We like liner notes, but if more demos had this kind of quality we’d overlook that. These indie-rock originals are well written with compelling rhythms and vocals woven together with a blazing cool guitar in a well produced package. We can easily imagine hearing these tracks on the radio. The vocals have emotion and a soulful quality which is quite appealing, especially when combined with the fine piano work on some of the songs.
