Big Head Todd & the Monsters - All The Love You Need

All The Love You Need , Big Head Todd and the Monsters

All the Love You Need represents a change in CD distribution not just for Big Head Todd & the Monsters, but for the entire music industry. According to a source within the band, These CDs were paid for and mailed out for free to fans by sponsors: KBCO, Crocs and AEG. The Freebie promotes not only BHTM, but also Crocs, KBCO and most importantly (to the band anyway) their scheduled June concert date at Red Rocks (Promoted by AEG Live, no doubt). It’s cool to get such high quality music for free in the mail and this will likely help them sell more tickets for the big Red Rocks show, but it leaves me wondering what other crap we’re gonna get in the mail form the sponsors. Hopefully, it’ll just be music. Look for the same CD to be released in a package with a DVD and a bunch of other stuff through the more traditional retail routes in a month or so. Anyway, getting back to the review, this album rocks! The first track “Her Own Kinda Woman” is the best of the bunch. The title Track “All The Love You Need” has a rap feel to it that just doesn’t feel right for BHTM, but kudos to them for trying something new anyway. “Cashbox” has cool driving rhythms, kind of an angry blues feel, which we like. “Ever Since Ya Pulled Me Under” is another rappy/dance club number. Overall, the album sounds like it was written by someone going through a hard breakup. It’s honest, passionate and worth a listen.
