Method of Entropical Madness, Entropy

Method of Entropical Madness, the ten song demo disc from the band Entropy comes complete with profanity ratings for each song. Fortunately, there are only 3 songs with profanity, so it shouldn’t make much difference to the average listener. The music tends toward ska-influenced indie rock. Some good dance beats with energy to make their fans move help out. “Take One For The Team” has terrific catchy lyrics that could fit perfectly into a beer commercial. The politically charged “Ground Zero,” featuring sound bites from old Dubya himself expresses the concern we all felt after 9/11. “Good Times,” broken down here to just vocals guitar and drums lacks the power of the live performance, but the chorus sticks in your head just the same. The cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Paint it Black” starts out calm and then goes nuts. That one is always a crowd pleaser when performed live. The CD seems reasonably well produced, though, not spectacular. It serves as an accurate introduction to the band for newbies and a good representation of what they sound like at their live shows.
