Birthday celebrates new music from The Sleepers. Rooted in quality eclectic music from industrial to new-wave and a lot of unusual places in between, these cats continue to put out well written, well crafted tunes that are just plain cool. Nearly impossible to describe, yet, rockin’ these numbers catch the ear and take it down a back alley for a joy-ride through some crazy German ghetto. Lyrics from Kat are sometimes sung in German, but are always fascinating. Grungy guitars with a synth-pop reminiscent of early 1980s New Wave, but with original spins that make it completely new. The music on the 13 tracks is intense, surprising and refreshing all at the same time. The more we listen to the CD, the more we like it.
