Sixty 8, Sixty 8

Sixty 8, the Self-titled CD provides a flashback to the 1980s. Unfortunately, it’s flashing back on all the things we hated about that era. The Music evokes images of ugly guys in spandex and big hair screaming into a microphone with high-pitched nasally vocals. It’s twenty years too late to impress anyone with this kind of stuff. We understand how some guys prefer to play music that inspired them when they were young and there are certainly markets for retro-metal. We’d just rather hear something more original. The brightest spot on the CD was the final song “Over” which has memorable lyrics. (“at least one of us will be free”). We think that if this song was reduced to simple acoustic guitar and vocals, it might actually be a good song. We just can’t tell the way it’s produced here.
Buy this CD if you forgot what the 1980s were really like.
