Bow Shock – Sleepwalker

Bow Shock - Sleepwalker

BOW SHOCK SLEEPWALKER, 2008

Bow Shock, bo shok, n.  A stellar phenomenon.  A name given for the shape  associated with the deflection of solar wind around  a planetary body.

The Boulder band consisting of David Dinsmore, Douglas Tapia and Troy N. Thill is Bow Shock.  With help from others, these guys use electronic beats, loops, convincing , penetrating vocals, bleating sax and tasteful keys to fill us up with their brand of jazzy, rocky music.  This, their second release after “Temporal Graffiti”, utilizes the electronic meets organic approach, a breath of fresh air in a sometimes stale scene.  From a Pink Floyd-ish swaying “Sleepwalker” with sax and vocals that stick to your brain to several reggae tunes like “Gravity and Time” and “Testify,” Bow Shock achieves over-the-top command of the senses.  A great tune, “Fire Come Down” just has to be heard.  With mesmerizing instrumentals like “Schoolyard” to industrial “Coors”, the band never lets us down.  A total joy of original stylings and studio/live knobbery, Sleepwalker will keep you awake and alert after repeated hearings.
Support this CD and the band.  They must be heard.
